A CTM phone booth located near the Red Market was found burnt down yesterday¡H midnight (21 July). CTM regrets for the happening while severely condemns the illegal act that disregards public interests and provokes Macau' regulation.

As the pioneer in the industry to promote local technology development, CTM has always been supportive in enhancing the IT knowledge of residents through different channels. The selling items include computers, electronic dictionary, software, PDA , iPod MP3 players and etc. Through providing high quality IT products at favorable price, it is hoped that the students can be benefited from the convenience brought by the IT products in assisting their learning, and to gear up for the upcoming academic year.

CTM is pleased to announce that the 3G application service "2D Barcode", will be the first integrated mobile communication service of its kind ever launched in Macau. It is envisaged that the launching of this service will bring a revolution to the local telecommunication industry. This creative 3G application platform is the fruitful result of CTM's commitment in nurturing local talents and also a big move towards the realization of local technology development. Yesterday (16th July), CTM organized an Agreement Signing Ceremony of "3G Content & Application Development Program" and Media Briefing of "2D Barcode Application Service", during which to introduce the functions of "2D Barcode". A cooperation agreement was signed between CTM and the source program developer of the service, symbolizing that the program will be launched in a real commercial environment, ultimately opening up more business opportunities for the local telecom industry.

All the way, CTM has fulfilled the community obligation and devoted itself in bringing diversified online services to satisfy the needs of users. Last month, CTM held a "Happy Family Online Game" and attracted near forty thousand of users to participate. On 8th July, CTM held a prize presentation ceremony to award the three fastest players a free "Nintendo Wii". |

The telecom facility rooms of CTM, located at LAI HOU Garden in Luís Camões and KUONG FOK ON Garden in Areia Preta, were found maliciously damaged by corrosive liquid yesterday morning (20 June), causing service interruption on fixed telephony and Internet for about 400 residential customers of the aforesaid buildings. |
