As a responsible corporate citizen in Macau, CTM has a close relationship with the community. CTM sponsors and participates in many charitable activities every year. In addition, the company devotes to the developments of our young generation. We also maintain healthy relationships with various social institutions. For the past years, CTM has been enthusiastic in supporting and participating in various social activities, for the well being of the society and development of the territory.
In order to encourage its staff members to actively participate in community services at their leisure, CTM has organized a "Community Service Team" since March 2002. Members of the Team are employees of CTM, who devote their leisure to perform community services; and spread their love and kindness to local communities with their actions.
CTM and its employees realize that we have the social responsibility, and opportunity, to contribute to the community in which we live, in ways that make a meaningful difference to people's lives. CTM has been working in joint hands with many organizations to serve the needy; and thousands of people have benefited from our contributions. Both CTM and its beneficiaries are happy about our community involvement; and we are ready for doing more in the future.
At CTM, we strongly believe that the society can continue to prosper if we can provide decent education for our young generation. Hence, CTM has established an academic project "I. Campus" since 1999. CTM provides high-speed Internet access with free leased-lines, necessary equipment and technical support, to all participating institutes. Over 130 local academic institutes have participated in this program. In addition, CTM has launched its "i.Campus Card" since June 2002. The launching of "i.Campus Card" marks another milestone of the project. Through the "i.Campus Card", CTM introduces special accesses with filtering features to the students, so that they can seek IT knowledge at their own leisure and enhance their knowledge, as well as learning efficiency, with the abundant information from the Internet. Now, besides the participating local educational institutes, all the 200,000 students and teachers in Macau can also benefit from this project.
Moreover, CTM offers scholarships to two local universities and several high institutes,. They are Macau University, Macao University of Science and Technology, Macau Polytechnic Institute, Macau Institute of Management, to award academic excellence.
