CTM Introduced Baidu AI Application Platform to Empower Smart Transformation for the industry Developed “AI Macau Smart Tourism Service” for MGTO

CTM has been actively collaborating with business partners to facilitate the “Digital Macau” smart city development, riding on a leading digital foundation of “Cloud, Network, Intelligence, Security” that empowering industries’ smart transformation development. On Apr 26, MGTO, CTM and Baibu jointly announced the official launch of Macau’s first “AI Macau Smart Tourism Service” integrating with Big Data, AI algorithms, AR technology that supports multilingual translation, assists various sectors in Macau to embrace the opportunities brought by AI cultural tourism development.

 

The “AI Macau Smart Tourism Service” launching event was held on Apr 26 afternoon at the Naples Ballroom of The Venetian Macao, during the “Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo”,  with officiating guests included Mr. Hoi Io Meng, Deputy Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM, Mr. Eric Ng, Director of Business Services and Development, CTM,Ms. Yuen Foyu, Corporate Vice President, Baidu Inc., Mr. Duan Wei, General Manager of Baidu AI Cloud (Southern Region).

 

Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM, said in her speech that, as a locally rooted telecom operator, CTM is actively promoting the development of the "Digital Macau" smart city blueprint. CTM collaborates with various business partners and aims to build a leading digital foundation for Macau. The "AI Macau Smart Tourism Service" jointly developed with MGTO, utilizes Baidu's Large Scale AI technology, supports real-time translation in multiple languages. This application aims to transform Macau into a world-class tourism and leisure center by breaking language barriers. In addition, CTM has integrated its self-built tourism Big Data model and AR technology into the application, providing tourists and residents with real-time and accurate crowd information at different tourist hotspots and immersive interactive experiences on historical attractions. This will greatly assist travelers in managing their itineraries and enhancing their sightseeing experience in Macau. Moreover, the application supports connections with communication systems of hotels, restaurants, and SMEs, offering a one-stop smart tourism experience and empowering Macau's tourism-related industries to embrace the opportunities brought by AI cultural tourism development.

 

During the occasion, Mr. Alex Siu, Senior Manager of Business Services & Development, CTM, delivered a keynote speech of topic "AI Smart Tourism: Development Opportunities with Large Scale Models", focused on the development opportunities brought about by AI and Big Data models, while Ms. Yuen Foyu, Corporate Vice President of Baidu Inc., delivered a sharing with the topic of "Development Prospects of AI Macau Smart Tourism Service".
