Keeping abreast of latest telecom and information technology development, CTM actively introduces developed various kinds of advance technologies and services to bring high-quality service experiences to Macau residents. Recently, a worldwide broadband speed test result of 2022 released by a UK speed test website www.cable.co.uk, pointing out that the average download speed of Macau’s Internet broadband is 262.74Mbps, ranked the 1st place in the world. According to the report, “Macau has leapt from 8th place to first place due to its increased migration of customers from traditional fibre lines to pure fibre connections.”
Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial – CTM said, this report reflected not only the quality of network infrastructure and the achievement of fiber popularization in Macau, but also demonstrated CTM’s commitment on providing telecom services with higher speed and quality, as well as general public’s needs and acceptance to innovative technologies. This satisfying ranking also reflected the general public’s support towards innovative telecom services.
Cham said, since realizing full fiber coverage within Macau in 2015, CTM has been actively promoting the popularization of fiber broadband service through privileges offer, speed enhancement and price reduction scheme, etc., at the same time, CTM counts customers’ opinions on upgrading fiber broadband services, hence launched the Fiber 360 (FTTR) service, through transparent fiber and dedicated installation to extend fiber broadband service to every corner in the residential unit, in order to fulfil customers’ needs on higher speed of network services.
According to CTM, more than 99% of its Internet service customers are using fiber broadband. CTM is confident to achieve the goal of full fiberization era in mid 2023, enabling Macau to connect with the world through much higher speed.
