The Asia-Pacific Summit of the World Internet Conference was held in Hong Kong from April 14 to 15. As one of the first senior member organizations from the Hong Kong-Macau region at the Conference, CTM was invited to attend the event and engaged in discussions with representatives from international organizations, governments, businesses, and experts from around the world on topics such as AI infrastructure and cybersecurity governance
Organized by the World Internet Conference, co-organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government, the “2025 Asia-Pacific Summit of the World Internet Conference” was held from April 14 to 15 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, with official guests including Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Zhuang Rongwen, Director of the National Internet Information Office and Chairman of the World Internet Conference, Zheng Yanxiong, Deputy Director of the State Council's Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and Director of the Central Government’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong.
Thomas Ng, Vice President, Network Services, CTM and Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM were invited to the Welcome Dinner on April 13 and the Opening Ceremony and seminars on April 14 and engaged with over 1000 industry representatives and experts from 30 countries around the world to discuss topics such as the development of AI, digital finance, the role of e-government in promoting sustainable social development and cybersecurity governance.
Thomas Ng, Vice President, Network Services, CTM stated that the rapid development of AI is remarkable. He emphasized that guiding AI toward positive outcomes and harnessing its potential can significantly contribute to sustainable social development. CTM is actively deploying AI applications and services tailored to the needs of Macau, aiming to meet the demands of the community and residents for digital transformation and smart application scenarios. He expressed gratitude to the Conference for organizing the Asia-Pacific Summit, which has created a collaborative platform for institutions and businesses in Hong Kong and Macau to connect with a global perspective.
Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM expressed that through this Asia-Pacific Summit, they gained insights into the vision and expectations from different regions around the world regarding the "Integration of AI and Digital Technologies Shaping the Future - Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace". She highlighted the importance of leveraging AI technology to drive regional industry digital transformation and the development of digital governance. She has also reinforced that CTM is committed to keeping pace with global development trends and creating more digital transformation solutions for Macau and the Greater Bay Area.
During the summit, to gain deeper insights into the future developments of AI and cybersecurity, CTM appointed Lewis So, Director, Service Operations Center, to participate in the "Cybersecurity Emergency Response Advanced Training Program" organized by the Conference. He engaged with participants from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to global cybersecurity and smart development.
CTM will continue to collaborate with various sectors to promote sustainable development, guided by the principle of “technology for people, intelligence for good”.
