Jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, the 15th National Games has successfully concluded last week. Serving as Macau’s Telecom Gatekeeper, CTM deployed over 350 network and technical personnel to ensure seamless network connectivity. By establishing “Dual 10-Gigabit Venues” and comprehensive network solutions, CTM achieved an outstanding record of “0 incident, 0 inquiry and 0 complaint” in delivering network security for the event. Furthermore, to promote a sports atmosphere in the community, CTM partnered with social welfare organizations to set up “AI Sports Experience Zone for All”, encouraging local residents to actively engage in physical activities.

Thomas Ng, Vice President of Network Services, CTM highlighted the company's strong commitment to ensuring reliable communications during the 15th National Games. Utilizing the latest telecommunications technology, CTM provided “Dual 10-Gigabit Venue” solution for three key sports sites: the Macau East Asian Games Dome, Tap Seac Multi-sports Pavilion and the Macau Forum. The team took a proactive approach, implementing comprehensive measures for network quality monitoring, security and customer support. Over 350 network and technical personnel from eight departments, including network services, IT and customer support, conducted real-time inspections and quality checks across all venues. The team also coordinated in advance with mainland telecommunications operators to enhance Macau’s external network bandwidth. This meticulous planning culminated in an impressive record of “0 incident, 0 inquiry and 0 complaint” in delivering network security for the event.

In addition, to celebrate the 15th National Games and promote a vibrant sports atmosphere in the local community, CTM partnered with the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, the Women’s General Association of Macau and Caritas Macau to establish “AI Sports Experience Zone for All” at their service centers. These zones encourage community residents to actively participate in physical exercise and maintain their health. Combining sports with AI technology, the experience zones feature engaging and safe challenge activities. The AI system recognizes participants and their movements, providing real-time statistics that enhance engagement and offer valuable health feedback. In addition to generating personal fitness profiles, the zones include a leaderboard to encourage friendly competition among residents. While promoting physical activity, CTM also emphasizes the importance of health awareness. Each “AI Sports Experience Zone for All” includes applications for “Smart Body Measurement” and “Silver Health - Stroke Risk Assessment”. Since their launch, these experience zones have seen enthusiastic participation from users across all service centers.

Following the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games are set to take place from 8th to 15th December across Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. CTM is fully committed to delivering comprehensive network support for these events, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants and attendees.
