As a leading smart city service provider in Macau, CTM fully supported the exhibition by providing high-quality telecom and network communications services for the event, serving as the Telecom Partner of the EXPO. Besides, CTM took part in the exhibition by setting up a pavilion of over 300 sqm to showcase dual 5.5G network, network security, AI smart applications for different scenarios, low altitude economy and green, low-carbon smart city development foundation, envisaging to collaborate with various sectors in Macau to promote the development of smart cities and support the“1+4”appropriate diversification development.
The inauguration ceremony of the CTM Pavilion took place today noon (May 22), officiated by guests including Ms. Lau Wai Meng, Director, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau; Mr. Hoi Io Meng, Deputy Director, Macao Government Tourism Office; Mr. Chan Ka Leong, Member of the Executive Council of MSAR Government and Director, General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau; Mr. Ip Sio Kai, Member of the Executive Council of MSAR Government and Deputy Director, The Macau Chinese Enterprises Association; Ms. Wong Kit Cheng, Vice President, the Women’s General Association of Macau and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macau; Mr. Ho Cheong Kei, President, Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation Ltd.; Mr. Sam Lei, Acting President, Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute; Mr. Choi Kam Fu, Deputy Director, Macau Federation of Trade Unions; Mr. Ng Wa Wei, Executive President, the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau; Mr. Wong Kin Chong, President, the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau Northern District, together with Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM and Mr. Thomas Ng, Vice President, Network Services, CTM.
Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM stated that BEYOND EXPO, as Macau's annual technology event, brings together key participants from around the world involved in the development of Macau's smart city. It showcases innovative communication and smart application advancements. As a telecommunications operator rooted in Macau and a strong advocate for the "Digital Macau" vision, CTM is committed to fully supporting and participating in this event.
Ms. Ebel Cham mentioned that this year, CTM established a pavilion of over 300 square meters, focusing on the CTM dual 5.5G 10G network infrastructure and various AI application scenarios. These include AI home assistants, AI smart traffic management, AI in culture and tourism, and AI health management, as well as digital foundations and application cases related to network security, anti-fraud measures, low-altitude economy, and green carbon reduction. The aim is to leverage the high, stable, and secure network infrastructure and AI capabilities to collaborate with various sectors to create more AI-driven transformations across different industries, fully supporting Macau's "1+4" industrial diversification and advancing Macau's smart future.
To further enhance the capabilities of the CTM’s cloud platform, a "Cloud Ecosystem Cooperation Launch Ceremony" was held that afternoon between CTM and Huawei. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Qin Dan, Vice President of Huawei Cloud for the Asia-Pacific region, Mr. Zhang Ze, General Manager of Huawei Cloud for Hong Kong and Macau, along with Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial, CTM and Mr. Eric Ng, Director, AI & Big Data Innovations, CTM. Both parties co-announced that they will continue to collaborate to strengthen the cloud platform capabilities in Macau, aiming to create a more efficient and secure cloud service experience for all sectors in Macau.
In addition, Ms. Janet Choi, Director, AI & Big Data Innovations, CTM and Mr. Ng Wai, President, Dawei (International) AI Technology Co. Ltd. co-signed a cooperation agreement to further develop AI+ Big Health smart application scenarios riding on each other’s technological advantages.
During the exhibition from May 22 to 24, CTM will collaborate with various business partners to sign cooperation agreements for smart applications, enriching the ecosystem of smart applications in Macau. At the same time, industry representatives will be invited to share insights on topics such as AI-enabled education, tourism, big health, and cybersecurity.
