CTM Demonstrates Multiple Dual 5.5G+AI Applications Deeply Explore Opportunities for Innovations in Digital Transformation

To stay aligned with the latest global developments in telecommunications, CTM actively invests in resources to establish a leading dual 5.5G digital infrastructure in Macau, enhancing the city's AI computing power and application development. Today (16th May), during the "World Telecommunication and Information Society Day" celebration organized by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), CTM showcased the latest dual 5.5G network and AI applications, supporting various sectors in exploring opportunities for innovations in digital transformation.

At the celebration event, CTM showcased smart applications and scenarios for urban governance based on dual 5.5G network + AI technology, including real-time traffic analysis using AI and Big Data, which aids in dynamic and precise traffic management. In terms of carbon reduction and energy saving, AI enables smart energy monitoring for mobile network stations, achieving a green communication ecosystem. In promoting cross-border connectivity of the 5.5G network in the Greater Bay Area, CTM focuses on advancing an integrated low-altitude economy ecosystem, further supporting the inclusive development of medical resources, logistics, and urban management within the region. Regarding policy and event promotion applications, CTM demonstrated a self-developed broadcasting system with multilingual, multi-format "AI avatar", utilizing AI for quick and resource-efficient promotional methods.

To nurture local AI talent, CTM’s “City Digital Economy (Macau) Innovation Center” has launched the “Generative Artificial Intelligence Application Engineer” (Junior Level) certification course, accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. The first intake of this program commenced in April and received an enthusiastic response from the community. To meet the growing demand for AI training, the second intake of the certification course will be introduced in the second quarter of this year.

Mr. Vandy Poon, CEO, CTM stated that the company is dedicated to advancing the vision of a "Digital Macau" by continuously developing a leading telecommunication network and digital infrastructure for smart city development. To assist different sectors in exploring opportunities for innovations in digital transformation, CTM utilizes a high-speed, high-bandwidth and low-latency transmission network that combines CTM 5.5G, 50G-PON, Wi-Fi 7, and FTTR, along with a locally deployed AI application platform. By collaborating with business partners, CTM aims to implement more AI-driven application scenarios in Macau, supporting the region's "1+4" diversified industrial development.

CTM will continue to invest resources to enhance the capabilities of smart city digital infrastructure and strengthen local AI computing power deployment, supporting the implementation of more innovative technologies in Macau in the future.
