CTM and Pui Ching Middle School joined hands to promote the smart campus development by enhancing the campus operations, smart classroom and campus network security, as well as exploring the "industry-academia" talent cultivation, which aims to nurture local ICT youth talents for the long-term development of Macau's smart city.
The "Signing Ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Smart Campus and ICT Talent Cultivation between CTM and Pui Ching Middle School" was held in the afternoon of May 24th at CTM’s exhibition hall in Beyond EXPO. Under the witness of Mr. KOU Kam Fai , Principal of Pui Ching Middle School and Mr. Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM, the agreement was jointly signed by Mr. Lok Kim Fong, Director of General Affairs of Pui Ching and Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial of CTM.
Mr. Vandy Poon said that, as one of the earliest partners of CTM on 5G and Digital Macau deployment, Pui Ching Middle school has always stayed at the forefront of education innovation. Both parties joined hands to promote the realization of smart campus through close cooperation. CTM pleased to launch the 5.5G service with this year, and cooperate with business partner – Huawei, CTM will provide a leading smart campus solution for Pui Ching, by comprehensively enhancing the information and network security level of the campus, realizing the intelligent operation of the campus, and enabling AI-assisted teaching with latest teaching resources, to fully support students' participation in global ICT-related competitions and certification programs. Furthermore, both parties will explore and cultivate Macau's ICT youth talents through the "industry-academia" collaboration, to make more contribution to Macau’s technology innovation and smart city development.
Mr. KOU Kam Fai said that the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement on smart campus and ICT talent cultivation between Pui Ching Middle School and CTM, marks a new chapter for the collaboration. Looking back to 2020, Pui Ching and CTM have already engaged in cooperation in the field of 5G technologies and successfully established a 5G smart application R&D laboratory. To address the urgent demand for high-quality talents under the appropriate economic diversification strategy and “1+4” strategy, as well as the challenges and opportunities brought by the rapid development of AI technology in the field of education, which makes us a more resolute determination and confidence to deepen the cultivation of ICT talents, promote the construction of smart campuses, and to explore on a broaden horizon in network security.
After the signing ceremony, the officiating guests and students from Pui Ching Middle School visited the CTM and Huawei exhibition hall at the BEYOND Expo, to gain more understanding of CTM's deployment of the latest network services including 5.5G, 50G PON, and Wi-Fi 7, as well as a series of smart applications in different scenarios.
