The Broadband World Forum (BBWF) was recently held in Paris, France. As a leading network and smart city service provider in Macau, Mr. Hudson Lou, Director of Network Services and Development of CTM, was invited to participate in the conference. He delivered a keynote speech titled “Accelerating FTTR Development for a Fully Optical Smart Future” at the “All-Optical Access Innovation Forum” hosted by Huawei, introducing in detail the innovative fiber broadband services and applications of CTM to the attendees.
Hudson Lou stated that as a leading integrated network service provider in Macau, CTM has been actively promoting fiber broadband services. As early as in 1980, CTM began investing in fiber network construction. With the full support of its major shareholder, CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited,, CTM achieved its goal of full fiber coverage in 2015. In 2020, CTM introduced F5G technology and launched the 10Gbps home fiber broadband service. In 2023, the company completed the “fiber in, copper out” initiative to achieve 100% full fiber access for broadband services and introduced FTTR services, providing customers with a higher quality broadband service experience. This year, CTM has deployed smart acceleration services in its FFTR offerings to meet customers’ high-quality network needs for different application scenarios.
Lou mentioned that in preparation for the upcoming F5.5G 10Gbps era, CTM is planning to deploy MobileHome, cloud NAS, and cloud PC application services. At the same time, by combining Wi-Fi 7 and FTTR technologies, CTM will provide high-speed network access services up to 50Gbps, fully promoting the development of “Digital Macau 3.0”. At the conference, CTM was awarded the “Best Application of Premium Experience of Home” by the forum organizers.
