
As a stakeholder in the development of Macao as a smart city, CTM actively promotes the practical adoption of IT and AI while discovering and developing new talent to fuel the long-term growth of the telecom sector and the wider community. To support this mission, CTM has partnered with Pui Va Middle School to provide training resources and diverse site-visit activities for the school’s vocational AI program. This initiative supports students in obtaining AI certifications from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Baidu, thereby building a pipeline of future-ready AI professionals enriched with hands-on industry experience.
Today (May 29), CTM and Pui Va Middle School hosted a signing ceremony on the “Collaboration Agreement on AI Vocational Program”. Witnessed by Ms. Tam Wan I, Acting Vice Director of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau; Ms. Leong I On, Head of the Division of Secondary Education of the Education and Youth Development Bureau; Mr. Loi Kat Sat, Vice President of the Chinese Educators Association of Macau; Mr. Lei Chun Ming, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Macao Pui Va Middle School; Ms. Hoi Lok Man, School Supervisor and Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President of Commerical, CTM, the agreement was signed by Mr. Lei Chao Lam, Principal of Pui Va Middle School and Mr. Alex Siu, AI & Big Data Innovations, CTM.
During her speech, Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President of Commercial, CTM, highlighted that as a key driver of Macau’s AI development, talent cultivation has always been a top priority for the company. Last year, CTM empowered over 100 employees to successfully obtain AI certifications accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The company also continuously identifies and nurtures local tech talent through academic scholarships and AI competitions. Through this latest partnership with Pui Va Middle School, CTM will provide professional AI training to support students in securing national-level certifications, alongside arranging a series of site visits to high-tech companies. The initiative aims to enable youth aspiring to enter the IT and AI sectors to sharpen their capabilities through genuine industry exposure and professional training, ultimately contributing to the future development of Macau’s smart city.
Principal Lei Chao Lam of Pui Wa Middle School remarked in his speech that, as an institution distinguished by its focus on vocational and technical education, Pui Wa recognises that amid the rapid advancement of AI, AI education is no longer merely about updating curriculum content, it has become a core driving force in advancing smart teaching models, close collaboration with industry is essential—working hand in hand with enterprises to bring cutting-edge technologies into the classroom—so that students can learn, practice and grow in settings that mirror real industrial scenarios, to nurture outstanding talent with solid capabilities that truly respond to societal needs. He added that the partnership with CTM not only helps enhance students’ understanding of AI technologies, but also injects industry-based practical expertise into the school’s vocational and technical education, enabling deeper integration between teaching and real-world application.
