Recently, CTM and Huawei have successfully completed the commercial deployment of the first 4.9G MetaAAU AAU5636m in the Asia Pacific region. The MetaAAU is capable of delivering the ultimate upstream and downstream dual Gigabit network capacity, which provides a solid network base for the building of the ultimate 5G-A (5.5G) experience in Macau. Through the introduction and construction of 5G-A technology applications and the leading smart city digital foundation, CTM expects to bring more diversified smart applications to Macau, especially industry-oriented digital transformation solutions, as well as innovative business exploration, such as promoting the popularization and development of Low Altitude Economy, Redcap, and Passive IoT applications.
MetaAAU is Huawei's pioneering third-generation AAU product, bringing ELAA technology (Extremely large antenna array), an important technology framework for the 5G-A era, which doubles the size of the antenna array compared to the traditional AAU equipment, and provides more concentrated signal coverage and longer distance coverage with the same power. The ELAA technology is a new green solution that realizes both network performance and green energy saving, and supports the Macau SAR Government's long-term carbon reduction strategy.
According to CTM, the company is committed to building a superior and leading 5G-A network for Macau. Joining hands with Huawei to become the first operator in the Asia Pacific region to deploy 4.9G MetaAAU once again demonstrates CTM's determination and commitment to leading the local telecommunications industry in continuous innovation to further promote the development of a “Digital Macau” smart city.
