CTM as one of the founding members of The Greater Bay Area 5G Industry Alliance, is committed to promoting the 5G integrated industrial development in the Greater Bay Area, to accelerate the development of IoT applications and low-altitude economy within the region. Today (Dec 17th), CTM is pleased to announce the success of accessing the 5G SA network connection with China Mobile International and China Mobile Hong Kong, becoming the first telecom operator in the GBA to achieve 5G SA roaming within the region.
CTM aims to provide high-quality connectivity within Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau based on 5G Standalone Network, with its high speed, low latency, and advanced data encryption technologies, to facilitate the integration in the GBA, while enabling CTM customers to enjoy the smooth, high-quality, and secure 5G network service experience in the GBA and other cities in mainland China, laying a major foundation for the development of cross-border IoT applications and low-altitude economy, and further accelerating the development of 5G+ smart application solutions.
To facilitate various sectors in Macau to better participate in the integrated development of the GBA, CTM actively aligns with the national communication technology development to build a leading digital foundation for smart city initiatives, alongside with the dedication to providing high-quality and reliable roaming communication services to residents. Since the launch of its 5G services, CTM has actively kept pace with the latest global 5G developments and successfully launched 5.5G services in July 2024, making Macau as one of the global pioneers to realize the commercial launch of 5.5G services. Moreover, to provide its customers with a seamless 5G roaming experience, CTM has actively collaborated with global operators to promote 5G roaming partnerships. As of early December 2024, CTM has reached 5G roaming agreements with 167 overseas telecom operators, covering 112 countries and regions.
CTM stated that it has been maintaining close cooperation with China Mobile International and China Mobile Hong Kong, from "One Sim, Multi Numbers," "GBA Shared Plan," and digital content service collaborations, CTM continuously promote the integrated development in the communication field among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. This collaboration of both parties on 5G SA network interconnectivity, aims to further achieve high-quality communication service among the region, and to contribute in the integrated development of the Greater Bay Area.
CTM will continue to promote the popularization of 5G technology and applications, by introducing more high-quality roaming services and enterprise solutions for residents and business sector in Macau, as well as in the Greater Bay Area, supporting various sectors in Macau to better integrate and participate in the development in the GBA.
