Organized by the International Association for the Portuguese-Speaking Communications (AICEP), co-hosted by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) and CTM, the 2024 General Assembly of AICEP, 2024 AICEP Prize Award Ceremony and the 31st AICEP Forum of the Portuguese-Speaking Communications 2024 took place on May 9 and 10 in Macau, with the theme of “Creating Value with Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
As a member of the AICEP and one of the co-host units of the event, CTM hosted the Gala Dinner and AICEP Award Ceremony on the night of May 9. During the event, CTM was bestowed the Innovation Award for the “5G Cross Regional Private Network Solution – The case of M.U.S.T. Smart Campus”. The award exhibits the full potential of CTM 5G cross regional private network solution and affirms its capability in accelerating the digital transformation of all industries.
Mr. Vandy Poon, CEO of CTM said that under the support of the major shareholder CITIC Telecom International, CTM strives to transform from a traditional telecom operator into a smart city service provider. CTM actively explores the "Cloud, Network, Intelligence, and Security" smart city digital foundation and leverages on the potential of 5.5G+AI platform to deeply tap into the capabilities of the digital foundation. At the same time, CTM continues to introduce and develop technologies and applications such as big data, AI, and IoT platform, aiming to create a more diverse range of smart applications and solutions for various industries in Macau, enhancing Macau's smart capabilities, and assisting the city to fully play its role as an economic and trade platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. CTM has been maintaining close relationships with the global telecom industry through which to promote synergy between cutting-edge technologies with integrated telecom services. Being a member of the AICEP, CTM has been actively participating and supporting the work of the Association and optimizing the role of a comprehensive service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, injecting impetus into the smart city development of Macau.
During the AICEP Forum on May 10, Under the theme “Creating Value with Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial of CTM, along with representatives from business partners, including Mr. Shi Wei, Sales Director (Sothern Region) of the Baidu AI Cloud China, and Mr. Xu Zheng, Chief Scientist of iSoftStone, delivered keynote speeches and participated in panel discussions at the AICEP Forum with following topics, " Use AI + Big Data to generate new revenue", "Development Strategy of AI Industry", and "Future of Smart Computing: Integration and Innovation of Large Models and Data Centers” respectively, demonstrating the development thrust of CTM and business partners in the field of AI+ big data.
