29/08/2025

To encourage Macau’s teenagers to develop healthy habits with Internet, we have launched the “Good Student Healthy Internet Use Creative Competition" in May. This initiative aims to raise awareness about harmful online information and help students recognize risks such as cyber fraud and personal data leaks through the perspectives of the students. The event has received an enthusiastic response from the community.

The award ceremony for the "Good Student Healthy Internet Use Creative Competition" was held this afternoon (29th) at CTM PC shop. Representatives from relevant organizations presented awards and certificates to outstanding participants. Mr. Lei Kwong Leong, Director, the Information Technology Development Division, CTT;  Ms. Chan Vun San, Director, Activities Centre of  “Exterior Port” , the Education and Youth Development Bureau; Ms. Lao Lai Mui, Principal of the Macau Catholic Schools Association and Ms. Ebel Cham, Vice President, Commercial of CTM.

Ebel said that with technological advancements, Internet has become an integral part of our daily lives. While it offers convenience for work, communication and entertainment, it also harbors harmful content, such as pornography, violence and discrimination, along with risks like cyber fraud and data breaches. To address these issues, CTM has introduced the "Good Student Plan" with web filtering features in February this year, which has received positive feedback from schools and parents.

In addition to offering the "Good Student Plan", CTM aims to guide students in cultivating healthy of internet usage habits. With the support from CTT, the Education and Youth Development Bureau and the Macau Catholic Schools Association, the competition invites students to showcase their creativity through four-panel comics videos and MVs, promoting safe and responsible Internet behavior.

During the ceremony, the championship works from each group were showcased and the winners are Lam Chi Kei from the Fu Luen School (Primary Section), Chang Hou Chin from Pui Ching Middle School (Coloane Campus) and Wong Chon Heng from School of Macao Residents.

CTM will continue to collaborate with community stakeholders to encourage more local youth to adopt healthy online habits and create a positive and secure digital environment for them.
