Serving as the Telecom Gatekeeper of Macau,, CTM is committed to ensuring the overall network security at all time. To ensure stable and secure network communications during the 8^th Legislative Assembly Election, which is going to take place on 14^th September, CTM network team has developed a comprehensive network security plan, this involves assessing network coverage and quality monitoring at high-traffic polling locations, along with timely allocation of network resources to ensure that the election activities receive the higher quality service required.

 

To ensure robust network support during the 8^th Legislative Assembly Election, CTM has proactively implemented measures for network quality monitoring, security and customer services. This initiative involves coordination across eight departments and includes over 220 network and technical team members who will conduct inspections and quality assessments at polling stations. In addition, the Network Management Center will provide round-the-clock monitoring at polling stations. From July to August, the Network & Services Department carried out five comprehensive drills and 86 targeted exercises, while the IT Department conducted nine security-focused drills. To further ensure communication and network security on the Election Day, CTM will deploy a technical team on-site at polling stations for immediate support.

 

Thomas Ng, Vice President, Network Services, CTM stated that the comprehensive network support for this event will feature advanced communication solutions, including dual 5.5G technology and multi-network integration. Furthermore, OTN+IP will be employed to provide multiple layers of technical assurance, enhancing the quality and reliability of communication services at key locations. CTM’s Cybersecurity Operation Center will conduct 7 x 24 network security monitoring, and CTM team is fully committed to ensuring effective communication services and robust network security.
