
The 13th APEC Tourism Ministers’ Meeting and the 67th APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting were successfully held in Macau from June 24 to 28, 2026. As the Macau Telecom Gatekeeper, CTM mobilized a dedicated task force of nearly 100 network technicians and delivered high-quality comprehensive network security and infrastructure assurance throughout the APEC events, achieving an exemplary milestone of “0 incidents, 0 inquiries and 0 complaints”.
Thomas Ng, Vice President of Network Services, CTM, stated that to ensure full telecommunications network security, CTM dedicated a specialized team of nearly 100 network technicians to the operation. Ahead of the events, the team conducted communications service quality and cybersecurity assurance work across multiple meeting venues and official guest hotels. Concurrently, cutting-edge communications solutions, including "10-Gigabit" connectivity, were deployed to further elevate service quality and network reliability.
He expressed that to further guarantee network service performance during the APEC meetings, CTM’s Network Management Center intensified its quality monitoring and assurance protocols across international leased lines, international roaming, venue Wi-Fi, fiber broadband and mobile networks. Ultimately, these extensive efforts culminated in the high-quality completion of APEC's cybersecurity and network protection operations, achieving an exemplary milestone of “0 incidents, 0 inquiries and 0 complaints”.
CTM will continue to uphold its role as the Macau Telecom Gatekeeper, sparing no effort to deliver comprehensive network stability and cybersecurity assurance during all major events in the city.
