Telecom Service Reduction Scheme - FAQ

 

 

1. Why did the Reduction Scheme begin in January, 2026 instead of October, 2025? The Reduction Scheme requires eligible customer to have been CTM customers before September 30th. Why was this date chosen?

 

In September 2025, CTM signed a Supplementary Agreement to the “Midterm Review of Concession Agreement of the Public Telecommunications Service” with the Macau SAR Government, marking a new starting point for CTM's development, CTM launched the Reduction Scheme covering a full range of communications services to reward eligible customers. This Reduction Scheme covers all communications services, and to ensure the smooth operation of all related processes, the Reduction Scheme is scheduled to begin in January 2026.

Furthermore, CTM will continue to offer diversified product and service packages to meet market demand. We kindly ask for your support and attention.

 

2. Why is the Reduction Scheme implemented in January, April, July, and October?

This Reduction Scheme covers all communications services and benefits eligible customers. Due to different service billing models, the Reduction Scheme will be implemented in January, April, July, and October 2026 (some are charged monthly or quarterly).

 

3. What classification standard applies to the Business Fixed Telephony Service covered by this Reduction Scheme?

4. How to calculate the monthly fee discounts for January, April, July, and October?

The Reduction Scheme will be applied based on the customer service's "Net Monthly Fee (the original monthly fee deducts the discounted fee, excluding value-added service fees)."

E.g. : Net Monthly Fee x Discount (%) = Amount After Deduction

 

5.     When will the monthly fee discount issued? Which channels can customers check their eligibility for the discount?

The Reduction Scheme details for different customer groups are as follows:

- Individual Customers using Home Fiber Broadband Service: 10% discount on net monthly fee for January, April, July &  October 2026

-   SMEs Customers using Business Fiber Broadband Service: 20% discount on net monthly fee for January, April, July, and October 2026;

-   Large Corporate Customers and Government Departments using Business Fiber Broadband Service: 20% discount on net monthly fee for January and July 2026; 

-   Large Corporate Customers and Government Departments using Direct Internet Access Services, Local & International Private

Leased Circuit Services: 10% discount on net monthly fee for January and July 2026.

 

This Reduction Scheme does not require customers to apply or register. The discount will be automatically deducted from the " Telecom Service Reduction Scheme" section of the bill for the applicable months.
